Gary Edward Lenger was born on January 9, 1957 in Knoxville, Iowa, the son of John Richard and
Margaret Virgene (O'Brien) Lenger. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1976.

Gary married Kim Kneip on September 8, 1984, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Knoxville.
To this union two beautiful children were born, Ben and Katie.

He owned and operated Gary's Auto for over 29 years in Knoxville. Gary was a life
long member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He served as a Volunteer Rural Fireman.
He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeye and the Dallas Cowboy football teams and going
to the Knoxville sprint car races.

He liked camping, boating, and spending time with his many friends. Most of all, Gary was a loving and caring father to his children
and cherished his wonderful family.

Gary passed away on Friday, August 12, 2005, at the University of Iowa Hospital in
Iowa City at the age of 48 years, seven months and three days.

He is survived by his children, Ben and Katie of Knoxville; four brothers, Paul
(Terrie) of Epworth, Royce (Vickie) of Marion, Jon (Connie) of Knoxville, and Murray
(Tenna) of Lincoln, Nebraska; two sisters Richardine (Gene) Jackson fo Polk City
and Janine Lenger-Gvist of Duncanville, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Andrew Gvist.
