Gary Lee Hegwood,83, of Lancaster, KS, died on January 6, 2024, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 12, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in
Lancaster, Kansas, with Pastor Peter Rehwaldt officiating the service.
Burial will follow at Lancaster Cemetery following the service at church. Memorials are suggested to the St. John’s Lutheran Church in
Lancaster, KS, and condolences for the family may be left online at beckerdyer.com.
Gary was born on April 21, 1940, in Columbia, Iowa, the son of Harold and Lucille (Moon) Hegwood.
He married Donna Harden on July 11, 1975, and she survives at the home.
He served in the United States Air Force, with the rank of Master Sergeant. Gary enjoyed many things such as motorcycles, golf, flying,
skiing, fishing, reading, watching sports, and doing puzzles.
But most of all he enjoyed time with his wife & family.
Gary is survived by his wife, sons; Timothy (Jennifer) Hegwood, Brent (Kris) Duncan, Jeffrey (Armonda)
Hegwood, daughter; Janey (John) Barker, fifteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and sister, Jackie
(Alan) Nielsen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ronnie L. Hegwood, and sister, Marilyn Hegwood.
