Fred H. Conrey, son of the late Harry and Lola Collings Conrey, was born Feb. 21, 1904, in
Knoxville and died at Gettysburg, Pa. July 26, 1960 at the age of 56.
He attended the public schools of Knoxville and graduated from the High school in
1923. For many years he operated a popcorn stand in the public square. In 1939,
he and his parents moved to Wickcliffe, Ohio, where he operated a restaurant until
the close of 1941. In 1941 he was employed at Thompson Products, and continued there
until his death.
Fred and his sister, Frances, left Monday morning for a three weeks vacation thru
the East, and spent the night in Gettysburg, Pa. where he passed away in his sleep.
Survivors are his brother Forest and his wife Emma, of Ravena, Ohio, and one sister,
Frances who lives in the family home in East CleveLand, Ohio with Fred.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother who died in Cancy and a brother
who was killed in World War II and is buried in Liege, Belgium.
Funeral services were held at the Bybee-Davis Funeral home July 31 conducted by
Rev. Alva T. Browning. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery.
