Funeral services for Faye Viola (Smith) Giorgetti, 98, of Knoxville, who died January 24, at the West Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, were held January 27, 1999, at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.

The Rev. Paul R. Tomlinson officiated at the services. Music was provided by Jim Kidder, organist. Pallbearers were Craig Smith, Merle Smith, Edwin Smith, Steve Smith, and Troy Padellford.

Faye was born March 14, 1900, in Knoxville, the daughter of Albert and Edith Burdick Smith. She was raised in the Knoxville area and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1918. She attended and graduated from Business School in Des Moines.

She was united in marriage to Clarence "Ted" Giorgetti on September 9, 1923, in Pleasantville. She worked in several Marion County offices over the years, including the County Clerk, Attorney, and Auditor.

She also served as office secretary for the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Business and Professional
Women's Club, and the First Christian Church in Knoxville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Maxine Smith and Freeda Smith Connell; and three brothers, Glenn Smith, Hoyt Smith, and Merle Smith.

She is survived by a son, Ted L. Giorgetti of Knoxville; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
