Fred L. Wright was born in Dallas County, Iowa on December 24, 1906, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alva Wright.

Fred Wright graduated from Earlham High School and from Des Moines University’s School of Pharmacy in 1929. He married Eunice Loynachan on December 24, 1931 at Knoxville, Iowa. He moved to Ankeny, Iowa where he was employed as a pharmacist, and was Mayor of Ankeny from 1934 to 1940. He then moved to Vinton, Iowa where he was owner and operator of Wright Pharmacy from 1940 to 1974.

Member of the Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Wright, a Benton County Republican, was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives, and served one term in the Sixtieth General Assembly.

Mr. Wright died December 27, 1979, and is survived by three daughters: 1.Sherry (Arthur L.) McLaughlin,(b.May 19, 1933-d.Nov.3, 2010); 2.Sandra (Jim) Boyer; and 3.Sheila (Wayne) Demmel, Vinton, Iowa.
