Funeral services for Eugene Dale Cox, 39, of Knoxville, who died Sunday, Nov. 12, 1989 at Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held Wednesday, Nov; 15, 1989 at Evans-McCleery Funeral Home in Knoxville.
Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville. Pallbearers were Mike Girflin, Mike Williams, Ed Pearson, Rick Van Donsler, Lonnie Kephart and John Young.
Mr. Cox was born March 30, 1950 in Mason City, the son of Marion and Anna (Hoots) Cox.
He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1969. After his tour, in Vietnam he received an Honor able Discharge in 1971.
Mr. Cox married Mechele Madsen in1986 in Knoxville. He was self employed as a carpenter until his death.
He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Aron and Jason of Ankeny; two step-daughters, Kimberly and Holly of Knoxville; his father of Knoxville; four brothers, Allen and Gerald of Mount Vernon, Ind. And Ron and Danny of Knoxville; and three sisters, Darlene Lightner of Rochester, Minn., Amy Hanus of Blairsburg, and Wendy of Knoxville.
