Funeral services for Erma June Rowley, 83, of Knoxville, who died December 10, at her home, were held December 14, 1998, at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Knoxville.

Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.
High Priest Jim Elledge and Elder Bill McDonald officiated at the services. Music was provided by Lavinia Wright, organist, and Jim and Annette Trinkle, vocalists.

Pallbearers were Rusty Rees, Bradley Rees, Rick Rowley, Ron Rowley, Ryan Rowley, David Harrison, and David Smith.

Honorary bearers were Lisa Smith, Dora Sanford, Deanne Larison, Jeanette Harrison, and Tina Foster.

Erma was born June 8, 1915, in Marion County, the daughter of James Lara and Minnie Alta Baughman Slocum.

She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1934 and taught at Fairview Country School for two years.

She was united in marriage to Wilmer Woodrow Rowley on November 30, 1935, in Des Moines.
The couple farmed near Knoxville, and later in the Bussey area.

They retired in 1979 and moved back to Knoxville. She was a homemaker and also worked
for the Continental Overall Factory in Knoxville. She was active in her church and helped with Meals on Wheels.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother; and two sisters.

She is survived by three daughters, Marie Rees of Ida Grove, Sandra Lubberden of Des Moines, and Barbara Harrison of Knoxville; a son, Richard of Bussey; a sister, Bertie Perham of Knoxville; a brother, Don Slocum of Knoxville; 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Central Iowa.
