Raymond Dwayne Pitt, age 61 of Monroe, lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Alive Church in Prairie City. Burial will follow at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. Memorials may be directed to Grace Alive Church or the Monroe Fire Department and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The son of Raymond James Pitt and Mary Lou (Byers) Pitt, Dwayne was born on April 22, 1956, in Knoxville. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1974.

On December 27, 1975, he was united in marriage to Jane Mouw. Dwayne worked as a mechanic for McAninch and for Corell for several years. For the last five years, he worked as a mechanic at the PCM Bus Barn.

Dwayne loved NASCAR and also enjoyed camping. His greatest enjoyment was the time spent with his family and beloved pets.Dwayne Pitt

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Jane; sons, Ben Pitt and Jordan Pitt and his fiancé Molly McConnell; siblings, Gloria Hoch, Barb Schuld, Rita (Tim) Rainey, David (Jean) Pitt, Sandy (Buddy) Cupples, and Jeri (Allen) Scott. Dwayne will also be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews; Richie (Kara), Shelby, Jamie, Jake (Robin), Jeremy, Jordan, Aaron, Josh, Stacie (Brad), and Greg (Heather).

Preceding him in death were his parents and a niece, Chris.
