Charles Duane Kline Jr. was born on December 19, 1948 in Knoxville, Iowa. Junior was the only child of Germaine Naomi Des Camp and Charles Duane “Skip” Kline.

Junior grew up in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1967. He attended Indian Hills Community College for two years to study nursing. On December 15, 1981 Junior was united in marriage to Darlene Ann Kline.

Junior worked for several years at Ideal Redi-Mix Company in Knoxville however his true talent was as a photographer. Junior took action photos at the Knoxville Raceway for many years.

Junior and Ann shared a special fondness for bulldogs. They had six different bulldogs over the years. Meatball is the current pet. Junior always like to ride motor cycles. Harleys were his favorites. Junior loved his family especially his daughter and grandchildren. He always had time to spend with them.

“Junior”, Charles Duane Kline passed away on Monday, January 29, 2007 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 58 years, 1 month and 10 days. Those family members who preceded him in death were his parents and wife.

Those left to mourn his passing are 1 daughter, Jacqi Bittner and her significant other, Steve Glover of Knoxville; 2 step-daughters, Elsie Ray of Knoxville and Beverly Beaman of Las Vegas, NV; 2 step-sons, Ernie O’Riley and his fiancé, Melissa Crook of Knoxville and Bill O’Riley of Springfield, MO and three grandchildren, Dalton, Devon and Abigail Bittner of Knoxville as well as other friends and family.

Graveside services were held on Friday, February 2, 2007 at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville with Rev. Art Hill officiating. Casket bearers were Dalton Bittner, Steve Glover, Bill O’Riley, Ernie O’Riley, Terry Phipps, Dean Shinn, and Mike Williams.
