Services for Donald George Harsin, 74, of Knoxville, who died April 22, 1988 at Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held April 24 at Williams Funeral Home.
Interment was in Breckenridge Cemetery, Marion County.

The Rev. Kenneth MacLeod officiated at the services. Music was provided by Janet Westberg, organist, and John Crawford, soloist.
Pallbearers were Steve, Grant, Jayson, Eric, Ward, Doug and Jared Harsin and Brian Loynachan.

Mr. Harsin was born on Oct. 19, 1913 in the Valley Neighborhood.

He received his education at Clay Township rural schools, Tracy Junior and senior High, and graduated from Knoxville High in 1932.

In February 1936, he married Jennie Magdalene Shawver at the home of her parents.
He farmed near Tracy until 1978.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Kiwanis, Knoxville Township Board of Trustes and the Breckenridge Cemetery Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Larry of Estherville and Kay of Knoxville; two daughters, Mrs. Ted (Dixie) Loynachan of Knoxville and Mrs. Bruce (Elaine) Armstrong of Merom, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren;
three sisters, Pauline Cook and Jeanne Hollingshead, both of Knoxville, and Helen Loynachan of Harvey; and two brothers, J.D. of Topeka, Kans. and Willis of Harvey.

A memorial has been established to the Knoxville Public Library.
