Raymond Don May, 84, of Austin, passed away on April 18, 2016. In respect of his requests, no visitation or services will be held.
Don was born on November 26, 1931, in Knoxville, IA. He was the son of Bill May and Mary Stout May. He married his high school sweetheart, JoAnn Simpson in July 1949 in Knoxville. They lived in Des Moines, IA for a number of years, while raising their two daughters and son.
They retired to Austin in 1993. Don and Jo enjoyed many activities together, from bowling to boating, but Don enjoyed golfing the most.
Until a few years ago, he could be found on a course, golfing with buddies, every morning. They were married almost 55 years until Jo's death in April 2004.
Don later married Judy Thevenet, who passed away in 2015.
Don is survived by his daughter Nancy Hayter of Austin, TX, his son Jack(Joyce) May of Moline, IL, six grandchildren and 12 great grand children.
He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Snell and son-in-law, Thomas Snell.
