Funeral services for Dolores Mae (Loynachan) Core, age 60, were held Dec. 27,1989 at the Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville.
Dolores Core passed away on Dec. 24 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital. Officiating at the funeral service was Rev. Lynda Carlson, with music being provided by organist Mildred Brooks. Interment was held in the Pleasantville Cemetery.
Pallbearers at the service were Don Goad, Bob VanZee, Mike Isley, Ralph Dyer, Donald Rees, James Cummings and Denny Miller.
Dolores Core was born on Aug. 29, 1929 in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Clarence and
Dorothea Loynachan. She graduated from Knoxville High School in the class of 1947.
Dolores was then employed at the courthouse in the clerk’s office for six years.
She was united in marriage to Lloyd E. Core on Oct. 9, 1953 and the couple lived
on a farm east of Pleasantville. Lloyd preceded Dolores in death on Dec. 23, 1984.
Dolores was a member of the Christian Church in Pleasantville. Preceding her in
death were her father and husband Lloyd.
She is survived by her two sons, Phillip of Altoona and Mark of route two in Pleasantville; two granddaughters, Lindsey and Morgan Core of Altoona; her mother Dorothea Loynachan and her brother, Clarence “Bud” Loynachan of Knoxville.
