Dennis Matney, of El Mirage, AZ, passed away on February 12, 2018, surrounded by his family. Dennis Eugene Matney was born September 16, 1938, the son of Kenneth L. Matney (b.1915-d.1972) and Evelyn Louise Billings (b.1917-d.1999)in Albia, Ia.
He received his early education in Albia and graduated from Knoxville, IA, high school in 1957. On January 5, 1958, he was united in marriage to Diane Dougherty in LeGrand, IA. They made their home in Marshalltown, IA.
Dennis was employed at Loots Manning Chevrolet as a salesman for 28 years, receiving many awards for his salesmanship. Dennis had a smile for everyone he met and loved talking to each person.
What he loved most was spending time with his children and family.
Dennis is survived by his wife Diane, of 60 years. His children Lauri (Mike) Hargrave, of Marshalltown, IA, Lisa (Chuck) Miller, of Fresno, CA, Jeffrey (Tami) Matney, of Casper, WY; Brother Bob Matney, of Bristol, CT, sisters Phyllis Williams, of Blue Springs, MO, and Sharon (Bill) Eby, of Thorton, CO; plus many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and two sisters: Mary Lou Matney (b.1948-d.1952) and Arlene Craig (b.1936-d.1976) and a brother: Infant Tommy Lee b.1937-1937).
He is now reunited in Heaven with them and his Savior.
