Funeral services for David Elton Loynachan, 87, of Pella, who died December 31, at Pella Community Hospital, were held January 3, 1996, at the Third Reformed Church in Pella. Burial was at Breckenridge Cemetery in Marion County.
The Rev. Don Orange officiated at the services. Music was provided by Lena Vandenberg, organist. Pallbearers were Doug Harsin, Kay Harsin, Larry Harsin, Bob Loynachan, Ted Loynachan and Tom Loynachan. Honorary bearers were J.D. Harsin, Willis Harsin, Harold Loynachan and Neil Loynachan.
David was born September 23, 1908, on the family farm near Harvey, the son of John E. and Nora B. Ghrist Loynachan.
He attended rural McMillan School, and graduated from Knoxville High School. Following graduation, he began
farming with his father. He also measured land for the Marion County ASCS.
He was united in marriage to Helen Louise Harsin on October 25, 1941, at the Plymouth Presbyterian Church.
The couple had lived on their Century Farm for 51 years before moving to their present home in Pella. He was a member of the Plymouth Presbyterian Church and the Third Reformed Church in Pella.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother.
He is survived by his wife, Helen of Pella; three daughters, Jane Ann Bousfield of Iowa City, Sherrilyn Nikkel of Pella, and Kerrilyn Nunnikhoven of Oskaloosa; a sister, Hazel Hollingshead of Knoxville; and seven grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
