Funeral services for Thomas David Evans, 81, of Knoxville, who died March 17, at his home, were held March 20, 1997, at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.
The Rev. John D. States officiated at the services. Music was provided by Darlene Mooberry, organist. Pallbearers were Chris Clingman, Gary Clingman, Barry Griffith, Matthew Musgrave, Stanley Musgrave, and Gary Verwers.
David was born August 25, 1915, in Marion County, the son of May Curtis and Evan Evans. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1933.
He was united in marriage to Naomi May Verwers on January 1, 1939.
He was a farmer and raised Hereford cattle. He was also an antique car collector, and always drove his 1929 Model A in the Nationals Race Parade each year. He was especially proud of his 1957 Chevrolet.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Naomi, of Knoxville; a son, Clarence of Knoxville; a daughter, Catherine Musgrave of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
