Daisy Lurine (Clark) Anderson was born on April 18, 1926 in Harvey,
Iowa. She was one of four children born to Violet Lurline Lancaster and Marvin Otis
Clark.
Daisy grew up in the Tracy area and attended McMillen County School and Tracy
Consolidated School. She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1943.
On March
17, 1945 Daisy was united in marriage to James William Anderson in Knoxville. To
this union, four children were born. Daisy worked at the local overall factory and
ran her own upholstery shop. Jim and Daisy farmed for several years.
In 1963 Jim
and Daisy started Midwest Business Forms Supply, which they operated for over 30
years. Jim’s brother, Loren “Andy” Anderson joined the business in 1971. In her
later years, Daisy attended the local farmers’ market and various craft shows. One
of Daisy’s greatest joys was meeting and visiting with people at these events.
Daisy
still made candy to sell during the holidays. The family especially remembers her
fudge, peanut brittle, and fruit bread. Sewing and crocheting were Daisy’s special
hobbies. Daisy was a very warm and accepting person who welcomed everyone into her
circle of friends. She was a very positive and upbeat person, which made her a
pleasure to be around.
Daisy was an active member of Christ’s Church in Knoxville.
In the early years the family always went to visit Daisy’s parents in Arizona for 2
weeks every year at Christmas. There are lots of good memories of the desert and
cacti.
The family also took various trips to see interesting things. They frequently
took Jim’s parents to Florida to visit with Elaine. After Jim’s death Daisy continued
to take tours to see various parts of the country they were not able to visit together.
Daisy Lurine Anderson passed away on Monday, February 7, 2005, at St. Luke’s Hospital
in Jacksonville, FL at the age of 78 years, 9 months, and 19 days. She was preceded
