Chloe Elenor (Crandall) Goad, age 78, of Knoxville, died early Tuesday morning June 5, 2012
at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital of Knoxville.
Chloe was born October 6, 1933, in Knoxville, Iowa to Thomas and Mary Gladys (Trumbo)
Crandall.
At a very young age, Chloe’s mother died and Chloe was raised by Newton
and Alta Crandall.
Chloe attended school in Knoxville and graduated from the Knoxville
High School “Class of 1951”.
After high school, Chloe worked at the movie theatre. In September of 1967, she began
working for Iowa State Savings Bank. She worked for 33 years with the bank before
retiring in September of 2000.
On February 10, 1956, in Knoxville Chloe married Donald Eugene Goad. They were blessed
with 49 years of marriage and two sons David and Doug.
Don died on July 3, 2005.
Chloe was a very active member of the First Christian Church. She taught bible school
and Sunday school, she was also a board member of the church of which she was the
secretary. Chloe also enjoyed reading.
Chloe is survived by her children David Goad and Doug Goad and his wife Tammy all
of Knoxville; two grandchildren Daniel Goad of Palm Bay Florida and Jesse Nichols
of Knoxville. She is also survived by one nephew Darwin Coleman and wife Liz and
one niece Cheryl Lang and husband Mark.
She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Mary Crandall; Newton and Alta
Crandall; four brothers Clyde, Clifford, Darrel “Charles” and Carl Crandall; and
one step sister Cleta (Crandall) Coleman.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012, at the Winfield
Funeral Home in Knoxville with Chaplain Bill Lane officiating.
Burial will follow services at the Graceland Cemetery of Knoxville.
Visitation for Chloe will begin at 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 7th at the Winfield
Funeral Home with Chloe’s family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.
