Carolyne Jane Roush was born January 1, 1936 in Melcher, Iowa the daughter of John
and Vivian (Thorpe) Thomas.

She attended elementary school in Melcher and her family later moved to Knoxville,
where Carolyn graduated from high school in 1954.

On January 1, 1955 she was united in marriage to James D. Roush (b.July 16, 1933-d.Feb 28, 2007) in Knoxville. To this union one son, Robert was born. Carolyne worked for Iowa Power & Light as a secretary for 22 years prior to retirement.
She and Jim lived in Arizona for 5 years of retirement and then returned to Knoxville.

Carolyne then worked for Griffin Nursing Center for 17 years as a bookkeeper. In
her spare time, Carolyne was an avid reader and Hawkeye fan, enjoyed flower gardening and her dogs.

She especially liked her Friday night dinners with her dear friend, Lucille Caughey.

Picking the great-grandkids up after school was a great joy for Carolyne, as was
spending time with all her family, whom she treasured.

Carolyne passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012 at her home at the age of 76 years.
She was preceded in death by her father and her husband, Jim.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Robert (Robin) Roush, mother,
Vivian Thomas and brother, Bill (Connie) Thomas all of Knoxville; 3 grandchildren:
Bobbi (Scott) Karr of Knoxville, Corey (Jana) Roush of Concordia, Kansas and Karri
(Mike) Scheffers of Melcher-Dallas; 7 great-grandchildren: Mackenzie & Ava Karr, Tyson, Taryn & Jaylin Roush and Tanner & Brayden Scheffers; 4 step-grandchildren: Michelle (Jeff) Bishop, Amy (Josh) Gutcher, Tony (Jill) Roozeboom and Ryan (Kim) Roozeboom and 10 step-great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
