Funeral services for Opal Charlene Rinehart, 75, of Knoxville, who died on Sunday, October 1, 2000 at West Ridge Nursing Rehabilitation Center, were held on Thursday, October 5, at Bybee Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville. Rev. Darrel Swafford officiated at the services. Jim Kidder was organist.

Interment was at Gosport Cemetery. Casket bearers were Cal Stephens, Allen Rinehart, John Rinehart, John Stephens, Jerry Rinehart and Chris Stephens. Honorary Casket bearers were Katie Stephens and Don Hixenbaugh.

Charlene was born on December 18, 1924 in Marion County to John and Mary E. (Hart) Rinehart. She was raised in the Knoxville area and graduated with the class of 1942.

Charlene had worked for Farm Bureau and the Internal Revenue Service before going to work for the Marion County Abstract Office, where she worked for many years. In her spare time, Charlene loved making baby quilts.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, D.A.R., D.U.V., Historical Society, Genealogy Society, and the Farm Bureau

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ruth Marie Rinehart and Helen Katherine Brown; and a brother, Bob Rinehart.

She is survived by a sister, Phyllis Stephens; two aunts; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church. Imager for the Knoxville Fire Department or the Knoxville Rescue Unit.
