Funeral services for Beatrice Geneva Crouch, 85, of Centerville, who died on Sunday,
October 8, 2000, at the Seymour Care Center in Seymour, was held on Thursday, October
12, at Johnson-Lange Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Gubser officiated at the services. Interment
was at Gracel and Cemetery in Knoxville.
Beatrice was born on July 13, 1915, in Knoxville to Porter and Georgia M. (Pitt)
Waits.
She married Zero Crouch in Muscatine on February 5, 1947.
Beatrice was employed at the Muscatine Button Factory prior to moving to Centerville
where she and her husband owned and operated the A & W Rootbeer Drive-In.
She was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, Woman's Club, Appanoose County Historical
Society, and Order of the Eastern Star.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son; a sister,
Bernice Washburn; and a granddaughter, Shawna.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Addison and Irene Crouch of West
Liberty, Ohio, and Randy and Bobbi Crouch of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn and Loren Waits; and a. sister, Doris
Mott all of Knoxville.
Memorials may be made to the Appanoose County Historical Society.
