Bruce Randall Crandall of Des Plaines. A memorial service for Bruce R. Crandall, 59, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 605 W Golf Road, Mount Prospect.
Bruce was born Aug. 2, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa, and passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at home.
He earned a B.A. from the University of Iowa and his M.A. from Northeastern Illinois University. He worked as a counselor for the Lake County Health Department, Tobacco Free Program. He was a passionate Green Bay Packers and Iowa Hawkeyes fan.
He was the beloved husband of Mary A. Galeazzi; loving father of Stacey Crandall of Marshalltown, Iowa; dear brother of 
Rev. Robert (Carol) Crandall of Des Moines and the late Judy Crandall; fond uncle of Tiana and Josh; stepfather of Peter (Michelle) Scarpelli of Chicago, Tadd (Nancy) Scarpelli and Amanda (John) Calta of Round Lake and Micah (Jenny) Scarpelli of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Papa to Tommy, Kaitlyn, and Charlie Calta, and Mikey, Rosemary, and Soula Scarpelli.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the Bidwell Riverside Center, 1203 Hartford Ave., Des Moines, IA 50305, are appreciated.
