Memorial services for Brenda Kay (VanHemert) Beaver, 53, of Knoxville, who died November 25, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, were held November 28, 1998, at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville.
Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. The Rev. Charlie McMillian officiated at the services. Music was provided by Jim Kidder, organist, and Katie Davis, soloist and guitarist.
Brenda was born October 20, 1945, in Knoxville, the daughter of Neal and Margaret Risewick Van Hemert. She was raised in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1964.
She was united in marriage to Harold Beaver on April 9, 1970. She had been employed in the VA Hospital food service since 1971.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Jim and a sister, Mary Jane Dreibelbeis. She is survived by three sisters, Neala Heggen of Des Moines, and Carolyn Kamerick and Linda Rankin both of Knoxville; and longtime companions, Hough and Liz Mikesell.
