Bonnie Mae (Bown) Heaberlin was born on November 10, 1932, in Indianola, Iowa. She was the only daughter of Thomas L. and Mildred (Stewart) Bown.
Bonnie graduated from Knoxville High School in Knoxville, Iowa with the Class of 1951. During high school, she participated in Y-Teens, Future Homemakers of America, and as a library helper. Following her graduation, she then worked as a telephone operator.
On February 15, 1953, she was united in marriage with Raymond Dale Heaberlin at Knoxville. To this union, three children were born: Dianna Kay, Michael Ray, and Richard Lee.
Bonnie and Raymond lived all their married life in the Knoxville area where she farmed alongside her husband for many years.
Raymond passed away on February 14, 1998, just prior to their 45th wedding anniversary. Bonnie continued living in Knoxville until becoming a resident of the Iowa City area in 2006.
She passed away at Windmill Manor in Coralville, Iowa, on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at the age of 83 years.

Richard and Sandy (Bengtson) Heaberlin of Mesquite, Texas
Andrew Heaberlin of Mesquite, Texas
Kyle Heaberlin of Mesquite, Texas
Blake Bengtson of Mesquite, Texas
Bonnie leaves her only brother, Robert Bown, and his wife, Meta, of Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Heaberlin; her parents, Thomas Bown and Mildred Welch; and her parents-in-law, Ray and Beulah Heaberlin.
Bonnie had been an active member of Christ’s Church in Knoxville where she served as a greeter.
Funeral Services will be held
Thursday, September 8, 2016, at 10:30 a.m.
Williams Funeral Home, Knoxville, Iowa
Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery at Knoxville, Iowa
Visitation will begin Wednesday afternoon at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville where the family will be present Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions are suggested for the Alzheimer’s Association or Marion County 4-H Foundation.
