The family of Robert Warren Anderson will celebrate his life of 81 years at the Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. He passed on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
On December 29, 1939, Robert (Bob) was born to Herman and Margaret Anderson in Gladstone, IL.
He married Karen Hayes on August 26, 1961, at the United Methodist Church in Knoxville, Iowa. After attending the University of Iowa,
Bob graduated from the Iowa Military Academy, in June of 1965, where he was voted Outstanding Cadet and was the Leadership Award recipient.
In 1978 he graduated from Command and General Staff College, in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, as a Lieutenant Colonel. Numerous honors, awards, and accolades followed his entire career until he retired a Colonel. Above all, Bob deeply loved his entire family.
He was surrounded by the love of his life, his children, his son-in-law, and his grandchildren when he went to be with his Lord and Savior.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Anderson; their children, Angie (Stance) Labaj and Mike Anderson; grandchildren, Ella Labaj, Stance Labaj; and sister, Julia Antrim. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Margaret Anderson; brothers, William Anderson; Richard Anderson; John Anderson.
