Betty Mae (Hollingshead) Catrenich, age 85, passed away peacefully at the Westridge Nursing and Rehab
Center in Knoxville, Iowa, on February 9, 2013.

Betty was born on April 29, 1927, in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of George Lee
Hollingshead and Thelma (Rowley) Hollingshead. She graduated from Knoxville High
School and attended Simpson College.

Betty began her working career as a teacher
in the Knoxville School District, starting at North Flagler, in a one-room schoolhouse.
She later taught in the Chariton Community School District, worked in retail, and
eventually retired from the Hy-Vee Wholesale in Chariton, in the warehouse kitchen.

In 1952, Betty was united in marriage to William (Bill) Catrenich. Out of this union
they were blessed with three children, Suzanne DeVore, Knoxville, Marie Van Ginkel
(Don Hardenbrook), Knoxville, Bill Catrenich (Connie), Ankeny, Iowa; four grandchildren,
Jarid, Adam, Amber, Beck, and two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Andrew.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and brother, James V.
Hollingshead. She is survived by one brother, Hubert Hollingshead of Pershing, Iowa;
three sisters-in-law; and many relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 11 from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Fielding
Funeral Home in Chariton, Iowa. A service will be held on Tuesday, February 12 at 10:30 a.m., at the Fielding Funeral Home with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
