Services for Betty June (Goodwin) Brees, 58, of Knoxville, who died May 6, 1985, at Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held May 9, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery Rev Philip Ryan officiated at the services. Music was provided by St. Anthony Adult Choir.

Pallbearers were James, John, Richard and Robert Brees, Wayne Backus, Ron Houser, and Curtis and Dennis Sorensen.

Mrs. Brees was born on Dec 6, 1926, in Knoxville, the daughter of Carl and Myrna Way Goodwin.

She attended Knoxville Schools, graduating in 1945.
On Feb. 18, 1947, she married James Martin Brees.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Church, and active in its 's affairs.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981, her mother, one brother, and one sister

She is survived by four sons;
Richard, Robert, James, and John, all of Knoxville, five daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Barbara) Backus of Ft. Worth, Texas, Mrs. Ronald (Janet) Houser of Monroe, and Mrs. Curtis (Paula) Sorensen, and Karla Brandza, all of Knoxville, 16 grandchildren, her father, of Knoxville, two brothers Charles of Knoxville and Robert of Glenwood and one sister, Myrna Goebel of Knoxville.

A memorial has been established to St. Anthony's Church.
