Barbara Ruth (Mark) Ridnouer was born on Nov. 8, 1925, in Attica, the daughter of Dewey
Mark and Hazel (Hedrick) Mark.
She was raised in the Attica and Knoxville areas and graduated from Knoxville High School. She lived in Dayton, Ohio, during WWII, where she worked as a teletype operator
In 1950, she returned to Knoxville. She worked at the law offices of Carroll and David Johnson as a legal secretary for 35 years.
On Jan. 23, 1955, she was united in marriage to Daniel Vance “D.V.” Ridnouerat the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville. Barbara was active in the U.M.W. church circles and the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
She was proud of her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Barbara passed away on Wednesday at the Comfort House in Pella at the age of 81.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, D.V.; a brother Dewey Mark, Jr. and two sisters, Betty Burger and Marilyn Wilson.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Paula Eifler of Coralville, Daniel Ridnouer, Jr. (Valerie) of Lacey, Iowa, and Dave (Lisa) Ridnouer of Knoxville; eight grandchildren, Angela Harrington, Amanda Ridnouer, Dara Eifler, Samuel Ridnouer Emma Ridnouer, Tracy Kirkpatrick, Tisha Crosby and Mike Goemaat; two great-grandchildren and her siblings, Robert Mark of Sacramento, Calif., and Dorothy Bernard of San Antonio, Texas.
