Ardith S. (Stokesberry) Pink was born, the daughter of Floyd and Maude Stokesberry, on July 12, 1924, in Knoxville, Iowa.
She lived in Newton, Iowa, in 1935 and moved to Logansport, Indiana, sometime between 1935 and 1986. She married John Clifford Pink, in Newton on January 22, 1949.
Ardith died, June 16, 2014, in Newton, Iowa, at the age of 89, and was buried in Knoxville, Iowa.
Husband , 41, (b.1918-d.1959)of rural Newton was killed instantly Sunday afternoon when struck by Lightning Bolt while feeding hogs on his mother's farm.
Pink is survived by his wife, the former Ardith Stokesberry of Knoxville. Pink was born in rural Newton to Andrew and Elizabeth Pink, February 26, 1918.
He was educated in Jasper county schools and lived his entire life here. He farmed on land about a mile north of Highway-6 on the road just west of the Sugar Grove grange.
At the time of his death, 5:30 p.m., he was working on his mother's farm. He was standing on a cement slab and had just picked up a bucket of water. He was only a few feet from a barn which had a lightning rod on it and a few feet from a large silo.
Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery.
