Graveside services for Antonetta (Toni) Graham, 96, of Colona, Ill., formerly of Knoxville, who died on Thursday, August 30, 2001, at her home, were held on Saturday, September 1, at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Rev. Lauris Meek officiated at the services.

Antonetta was born on May 4, 1905 near Bussey, the daughter of Lillie May (Gregory) and George Lenord Butterfield. She attended East Elementary School and Central in Knoxville before graduating from the Knoxville High School. She attended Robert Burns Hospital Nursing School in Chicago, Ill, where she received her RN degree.

She was married to William Love (W.L.) Graham. Toni and Bill farmed for many years in the Red Rock area. She took great pleasure in planting and working in the fields. She also took care of the livestock. They later moved to Newton when the dam was built.

Toni and Bill loved to travel and had visited every state in the union. Toni enjoyed quilting. She was always involved in her children's school activities when they were growing up.

She was a charter member of the Newton VFW Auxiliary, Newton American Legion Auxiliary and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and served as Noble Grand.

Due to poor health, Toni moved to Colona, Ill., to live with her son, Bill, about five years ago.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Bob; two brothers, and three sisters.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William (Bill) and Darla Graham of Colona, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, Elsie Graham of Newton; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
