Funeral services for Alma Larsen Collins, 82, of Knoxville, who died Friday, June 16, 2000, at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held Tuesday, June 20 at 1 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
Rev. Raymond D. Moore officiated at the services. Jim Kidder was the organist.
Interment was at Scandinavian Cemetery in Alta, with Pastor Aaron Jones officiating.
Honorary bearers were Joan Breese, Virginia Fast, Vivian Hansen, Mildred Line, Dorothy Porter, and Claudine Williams.
Alma was born on February 28, 1918, in Minnesota, the daughter of Annie K. Tedersen and Walter 0. Larsen. Alma moved to Knoxville in 1937. She was a practical nurse during her, early life.
Alma graduated from Knoxville High School in 1948. She
was a member of the National Honor Society.
On August 14, 1949, Alma was united in marriage to Jackson Lafayette Collins in Nisswa. Minn.
Alma was a supportive wife and became involved in her husband’s activities such as the Boy Scouts, Firemen’s Auxiliary, and National Guard. She enjoyed drawing, sculpting, and painting and continued to sketch at the TLC Unit.
She loved to travel with her husband, go fishing, hike, and garden. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Kappa Masters Chapter, and the First United Methodist Church Woman’s Society.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 sisters, and 2 brothers.
Alma is survived by a stepdaughter, Marion Carson of Marion; four grandchildren; one brother. John Larsen of St. Louis. Mo.: and one Sister, Mabel Larsen of Storm Lake.
