1929 – 2000 Alberta (Onstank) Carter, 71, of Knoxville, passed away on Sunday, November 19,
2000 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

There will be no funeral services
and private interment of the cremains will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Alberta was
born on September 6, 1929, in Indiana Township, the daughter of Minnekes and Helene
Johnson Onstank. She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1946. She married Lloyd
Carter on May 17, 1947, in Knoxville. A lifelong resident of Marion County, Alberta
was a loving mother and homemaker. She worked for several years for the Village
Bargain Shop in Knoxville. She was also a member of the First United Methodist
Church in Knoxville.

Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and
one brother, Kenneth "Pete" Onstank. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law,
Melissa and Greg Gray of Knoxville; two sons, Lee of Knoxville and Monte of Austin,
Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Barbara Onstank of Knoxville; eight
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
