Funeral Services for Adalyn Rachael Thomas were held on Friday Oct. 20 at Williams Funeral Home Adalyn Thomas, age 74, passed
away on Oct. 17 in Knoxville.
Presiding over the service was Evangelist Robert A. Wells and music was provided by organist Darlene Mooberry. Interment was held at Greenwood Cemetery in Marion County. Caskethearers were Ron Ban, Jack Battistelio, Eric Martin, Mark Peiffer, Bruce Rietveld and Ron Thomas.
Adalyn was born on July 12, 1915 in Churchill, TN to Claude and Mary Katherine Long Christian. She moved to Knoxville in 1918 and lived here and in Marion County the rest of her life.
On March 25, 1937 she was united in marriage to Walter Thomas in Lancaster, Mo. Adalyn and Walter had three children: Shirley Joyce (Mrs. Vernon) Vance of Tracy, Sarah Jane Mason of Swan and Mary May (Mrs. Edward) Schakel of Pella. She worked in the overall factory in Knoxville-Continental Manufacturing for over 21 years.
Adalyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister and three brothers.
She is survived by her three daughters, a brother: Paul Christian of Des Moines, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
