Russell "Eddie" James Jones, 54, of 2241 N.W. 71st Place, Ankeny, died of a heart ailment Monday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ankeny First United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Jones, the owner of Russ Jones Concrete Co., was born on Aug 26, 1942, in Knoxville, where he lived for 24 years. He spent three years in Des Moines and had been an Ankeny resident since 1969.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; a son, Kevin of Ankeny; a daughter, Kristin Jones-Shelton of Des Moines; three sisters, Phyllis Mitchell of Ankeny, Eleanor Ostendorf of Ames, and Mary Kuiper of Knoxville; and a brother, Ronald of Ankeny.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m today at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
