Services for Ronald D. McComas, 53, of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and formerly of Knoxville, who died April 16, 1985 at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md. following a heart attack, were held April 20 at Evangelical Church in Frederick, Md.
Interment was in Francis Scott Keyes Cemetery in Frederick, Md. Mr. McComas was born on Oct. 17, 1931 in Des Moines, the son of Charles Raymond and Viola B. Fraker McComas.
He was a graduate of Knoxville High School, served in the Navy for five years, and graduated from Drake University With a B.A. degree in business administration.
He was employed by State Farm Mutual Insurance Co. as a C.P.A. for 20 years, resigning due to illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frieda Conard in 1980.
In 1983, he married Lora Darbee of Frederick, Md. and moved to Florida where they owned and operated a gift and art shop.
He was an active member of the Evangelical Church, serving several years as deacon and elder, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the American Legion, and the Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife; two sons,
Kevin of Frederick, Md. and Jeff serving in the Air Force: three step daughters; and his mother, Viola McComas of Knoxville.
