Ray Kenneth Monroe, 80, of 1804 S.W. Leland Ave. died of a heart ailment Saturday at Des Moines General Hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Southtown Funeral Home chapel. Officiating
Reverend Don Gilbert of Debra Heights Wesleyan Church. Organist: Alma Angaran, Soloist:
Therese Drey. Pallbearers Keith, Mark and Paul Monroe, Larry Dursky, Larry Robuck and Greg Rankin.

Mr. Monroe was born in Marion County, on November 26, 1908, the son of Ira M. & Cora
Rowland Monroe.

April 21, 1932, Ray was married to Mildred Adel Robuck of Attica. He lived in the
Knoxville area before moving to Des Moines in 1930. He retired as a maintenance
engineer for the Des Moines Public Schools. He was a member of Debra Heights Wesleyan Church.

Surviving is his wife, Mildred, a son, Kenneth of Des Moines; three grandchildren; Keith, Mark and Paul Monroe of Des Moines and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will
meet with friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Burial will be in Breckenridge Cemetery in rural Knoxville.
