Funeral services for Michael Edward Rhoads, 50, of Knoxville, who died Nov. 12 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, were held Nov. 16 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Pella with Pastor Mark Pries officiating.

Interment was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville with full military honors.

Rhoads was born on Sept. 6, 1954, in Grinnell to Edward and Irene Emma Schafer Rhoads.

He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1973.  He then attended Southwest Community College in Creston, Iowa for two years. During this time, he enlisted in the Navy and served from 1975 until 1979. He served in communication aboard a submarine.

On Oct. 11, 1980, he married Norma Jean Caughey. They had one daughter, Tracy Marie.
Rhoads worked as a Utility Tech at Pella Corp for 24 years.

On January 31, 2004, Mike was married to Karol Ann Klein. Rhoads was preceded in death by his father and his step-sister, David Core of Knoxville, Iowa, and Denny (Pam) Suzanne Cline.

He is survived by his wife, Karol his daughter, Tracy Marie, and
her husband, Chris Rogers, of Tuscon, Ariz.; his granddaughter, Lily Anne; two step-children: Ryan and Kari DeJoode; his mother, Irene, and his step-father, Charles Cline; his
sisters: Penny Kay and her husband, Tim Faber, of Roseburg, Ore.; Sinnard & Bruce
Ha: Elbert, Colo.; his step-sister Stephanie Cline; his brother, Steven Cline, wife,
Renee.

Memorials may be m the Boy Scouts of America Arrangements were by Van Dyk
