Graveside services for Edith Lorene Acklin, 77, of Wichita, Kansas, who died October 8, at Hillside Hospital in Wichita, were held October 13, 1994, at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Reverend Ed Bunt officiated at the services.
Lorene was born July 27, 1917, in Marion County, the daughter of Arthur and Gertrude Jones DeZwarte. Before marriage, she taught school at the Washington Country School, near Knoxville.
She also worked for the IRS for several years. She was an avid genealogist.
She was united in marriage to John Acklin, June 26, 1940. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, John, of Wichita; a daughter, Nancy, of Wichita; a son, David, of Tucson, Arizona; three brothers, Carroll, Burdette, and Kenneth, all of Knoxville, and one grandson.
