Lola Moorman01/22/2005
Lola Ann Moorman a lifetime resident of Knoxville passed away in the early morning
of Saturday, January 22, 2005 at the age of 69.

Born August 21, 1935 at the University
Hospital in Iowa City, Lola was the only child of Gilbert and Nellie (Hunt) Moorman.
Lola graduated from Knoxville High School in 1956. She remained in Knoxville and
operated her own house-cleaning business for many years. After an accident in the
early 1990 Lola moved to the Marion County Care Facility and lived there until her
health required that she have closer medical attention. She finished her days at
Griffin's Nursing Home.

Lola grew up in a home where she was nurtured and loved
by her parents. The Moorman family loved traveling to rodeos, listening to and playing
country music and enjoying the fellowship of their church family. Her father passed
away in 1967, and her mother in 1983. Until she moved to Marion County Care Facility,
Lola maintained the family home, the hobbies and the passions her father and mother
passed on to her.

She kept thorough scrapbooks with photos, cards and newspaper
clipping of major event and the everyday occurrences in the lives of the people
she knew and loved. She wrote that losing her things was painful, but never did
she want to "lose the way". Lola was preceded in death by her parents.

Though she
had no siblings, she leaves behind many brothers and sisters in Christ who will
miss her, but who rejoice in the knowledge that she is now in perfect health, without
pain or defect.

Funeral Services were held at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home in
Knoxville, Iowa on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Charlie McMillian,
officiating. Musical selections were conducted by Marilyn Smith, pianist and Jim
Kidder, vocalist. Music included "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and the "Old Rugged
Cross". Lola was a member of the Free Methodist Church. Interment was in the Gosport
Cemetery in rural Marion County.
