Funeral services for Lena Thomas,
91, of Knoxville, who died Dec. 10 at her home, were held Dec. 14, 2005 at the First Assembly
of God Church with Pastor David Vanderpool officiating. Interment was at Graceland
Cemetery.

Thomas was born on July 12, 1913, in Andersonville to Mathilde Desplanques
and Florent Pierre Vanceunebrock. She grew up around Pershing and Flagler, attending
the Knoxville High School until her marriage to John LeRoy Thomas on March 14, 1931.
They had five sons.

Thomas was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Donald; three
grandchildren: Brian, Cindy and Mark; two brothers: Florent and Marceau Vanceunebrock
and one sister, Tillie Kingery.

She is survived by four sons: John and Glenna Thomas
of Tracy, Richard and Doris Thomas of Knoxville, Florent and Margaret Thomas of
Des Moines and Robert and Kaye Thomas of Harvey; 19 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren;
26 great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Thomas of Knoxville; one sister-in-law, Maxine Vanceunebrock; one brother-in law, Walter Kingery; one sister,
Dorothy and Art Casias of Albuquerque, N.M. and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Women's Missions — First Assembly of God Church. Arrangements
were made by, Williams Funeral Home.
