Kenneth Stephen McKay, 19, of Knoxville died Thursday of injuries suffered in an
automobile accident on Iowa Highway 14 south of Knoxville.
The body was cremated,
and memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at New Covenant Church in Knoxville.
Burial of the cremains will be at Graceland Cemetery.
Mr. McKay had lived
in Knoxville all his life. He was a dispatcher with Mike Brooks Trucking in Knoxville
and a student at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed fishing,
hunting mushrooms, camping and watching sports.
He is survived by his mother and
stepfather, Lisa and Steven Modlin of Knoxville; his father, Stephen McKay of Des
Moines; a sister, Staci McKay of Knoxville; two stepsisters, Amanda Oppedahl of Boone and Kalee Modlin of Kearney, Neb.; and his grandparents, Nancy and Charlie
Van Houwelingen and Chris and Gary Rowley, and his great-grandparents, Fern Jarman,
Mabel Rowley and Vera McKay, all of Knoxville.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. today
at Evans-McCleery Funeral Home in Knoxville, where the family will be present from
3 to 5 p.m.
