John Clair Hunt, 86, of the 300 block of Northeast 56th Court, Pleasant Hill, died of a heart ailment Sunday, September 10, 2000, at home.

The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 11 a.m Saturday at Unity Lutheran Church, of which he was a member.

Mr. Hunt was born, Sept 20, 1913, in Buxton and had lived in Knoxville before moving to Pleasant Hill in 1939. He was a retired stockbroker at Piper Jaffray-BanCorp.

He was treasurer of the board at Iowa Lutheran Hospital president of Spare Wheel, an advisory board member of Central College and a Sunday school teacher and council member at his church.

He was an avid quail and pheasant hunter and received a Man of the Year Award from Central College.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Nancy Brady of Runnels; a son Don of West Hartford, Conn; a sister, Cynthia Bare of Pleasantville; and six grandchildren.
