Funeral services for Jason Dean Dykstra, 16, of Columbia, who died April 11, at
Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, were held April 15, 1996, at the First
United Methodist Church in Knoxville.

Burial was at Olive Chapel Cemetery. The Reverends
Roger Goodson and Bob Morris officiated at the services. Music was provided by Geoff
Shultz, organist-pianist, Dan Barth, trumpeter, Ted Dykstra Jr., soloist, Amanda
Porter and Jim Coffman, vocalists, and Scott Bridges, saxophonist. Pallbearers were
Dan Barth, Curt Froyen, Brad Wilson, Josh Greubel, Andy Brobston, and Dave Brobston.

Jason was born June 16, 1979, in Ottumwa, the son of Rodney and Sharon DeMoss Dykstra.
He was a junior at Knoxville Senior High School. He was a member of the Concert,
Jazz, and Marching Bands, and the Drumline. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts
Order of Arrow, and the F.F.A. He was a part-time employee of the Hy-Vee Food Store
in Knoxville.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elmer and Alma
Dykstra. He is survived by his parents; a sister, Shannon; and his maternal grandparents,
Tommy Sr., and Clara DeMoss of Knoxville.

Memorials may be made to the Jason Dykstra
Memorial Scholarship Fund. Arrangements were made by Bybee and Davis Funeral Home
in Knoxville.
