Jamie Lee Scott was born December 4, 1931 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Bert Scott
and Naomi (Brees) Scott.

He was raised in Knoxville and graduated with the Class of 1949. Following high
school, Jamie enlisted in the United States Air Force. In 1953 he was united in
marriage to Edra Craigo in Greenville, South Carolina.

He served four years before he was honorably discharged and returned to Knoxville.
Jamie worked at the V.A. Hospital for 33 years. He was in the supply warehouse at
the time of his retirement.

He enjoyed playing softball; he was on the Belinda Team for many years and played
on a team while serving in the Air Force. Jamie also enjoyed bowling, mushroom hunting
and watching the Hawkeyes. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially
at Christmas.

Jamie passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the Bright Kavanagh House, in
Des Moines, at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 30 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to honor his memory include
his wife, Edra; children: Craig (Deb) of Knoxville, Carla (Mark) Payne of Knoxville,
Melissa (Kevin) Moneysmith of Knoxville, Melinda VanderEcken (Keith Goodyk) of Pella and Brent Scott of Newton; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grand-children and many other
family members and friends.
