Jack Rex Weddle died on March 19, 2006, due to complications of Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Jack was born on July 9, 1936, in Des Moines, the son of Knoxville residents J. Rex and
Betty M. (Reynolds) Weddle. He was a devoted husband, caring father, and loving grandfather, He will be greatly missed by both his family and the many people whose lives he touched.

His father, J. Rex Weddle, was mayor of Knoxville from 1949 to 1951.

Jack graduated from Knoxville High School and received his degree
from the Iowa State Teachers College (UNI), where he was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. Jack worked in insurance sales and management for 30 years.

Always the salesman and forever a collector, he traded and sold antiques and collectibles for 29 years. He could often be found, in his Iowa Hawkeye Jacket and hat, talking to friends and customers at his shop, Collectibles, Etc., in Valley Junction in West Des Moines. He is survived by his wife, Georgia; his three children. Christi (Kent) Ross, Jeff (Lefty) Weddle. and Dan (Michelle) Weddle: three step-children. Todd (Cheryl) Roy, Stuart Roy, and Bryan Roy; six grandchildren. Amy. Josh. Emma. Megan. Adam and Sarah: and one sister, Vicki L Weddle.

A memorial service was held on March 24 at the Resthaven Cemetery Mausoleum in West Des Moines.
