Glen Newton, son of Lewis and Bessie Newton, was born April 5, 1903 near Dallas and died at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines April 24, after a month's illness.
at the age of five he moved to the Lincoln neighborhood with his parents and lived in this community for the remainder of his life.

He attended Lincoln Rural school and graduated from Knoxville High School. He was actively engaged in farming and participated in and supported many worthwhile activities in his conmnunity.

On Jan. 1, 1929, he was married to Ruby Jordan and to this union two children were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son. Surviving are his wife, his daughter, Shirley Van Der-Veer and her husband, two sisters, Fern Langenberg and Beulah Newton of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held April 26 from Eden Methodist Church the Rev. Charles Milner and Rev. William T. Miller officiating. Interment was made in Lincoln Cemetery.
