Services for Gary K. Stevenson, 44, of Fountain Hills, Ariz. and formerly of Knoxville,
who died Feb. 16, 1987 of a massive heart attack at Scottsdale, Ariz. Memorial Hospital,
were held Feb. 18 at Messinger Mortuary Chapel in Scottsdale.

Stevenson was born September 2, 1942, in Knoxville, the son of Harry and Mary Hodgson
Stevenson. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1960 and was a veteran of
the armed services. The owner of Stevenson Landscaping Corp., he moved to Arizona
in 1983.

Gary reportedly suffered the heart attack at home, following a visit to the local
ballfield and watching a women's softball team that his business sponsors win its
first game. An active resident, Stevenson, a former police officer in Iowa, had
been a member of the Sheriff's Posse for the past three years. He was also a member of
the Club in Fountain Hills Licensed Contractor's Association and the, Arizona Landscapers'
Association.

He was preceded in death by his mother; one sister, Sue; his grandmothers; and one
grandfather. He is survived by his wife, the former Nancy Chambers of Knoxville;
one son, Michael of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Kimberly Stevenson of Phoenix,
Ariz., Amy Stevenson of Iowa Falls, and Kristine Nash of Green Valley, Ill.; two
grandchildren; his father, Harry W. Stevenson, of Knoxville; one brother, Kent of Grand Forks, N.D.;
and one sister, Mrs. Bob (Karen) Smith of Pella.

Officiating Chaplain Paul G. Stephenson. Interment Paradise Memorial gardens in
Scottsdale, Arizona. A memorial has been established for a plaque. Contributions
