Services for Carroll Leaning Price, 76, of Knoxville, who died Feb. 17, 1987 at Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held Feb. 19 at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home.
Interment was in Graceland Cemetery.
Revs. K. Wayne Hoehns and John Beebout officiated at the services.

Music was provided by James Kidder Organist.
Pallbearers were Bert Bacus, Paul Morgan, Raymond Orr, Wesley Harvey, Clifton Shafer, and Fred Van Ryswyk.

Mr. Price was born Dec. 6, 1910 in Marion County the son of Matthew and Gertie Coe Price.

He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1930. On Aug. 30, 1930, he married Mildred Betterton.

Operating Hawkeye Mill in Knoxvlle for a number of years. In 1940 he became owner of Hawkeye Farm Equipment Company.

In 1957, he was elected to his first term in the Iowa Senate. During his second term he was appointed to Social Service and later to the Board of Control, a capacity he served in until 1978.

He was a former member of the Knoxville Community School Board, had served on the Marion County Fair Board, and was a member of the first United Methodist Church, Oriented Lodge No 61 A.F. & A.M. and the ZaZig Shrine Club of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter JoAnn in 1979, and three sisters, Pearl, Lillian and Olive.

He is survived by his wife one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Janet) Nash of Fairfield, six grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and one sister, Irene Myers of Casa Grande, Ariz.

A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
