Fern Marie Orcutt was born on March 6, 1944, in Knoxville, the daughter of Morris and Marguerite
Moneysmith Orcutt. She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1963.
She lived
most of her life in Marion County. Fern was employed as an operator for Bellamy
Phone Company in Knoxville. She also worked for Contel Phone Company in Knoxville
and in Missouri until her retirement.
Fern enjoyed cross-stitching, working on her
computer, and especially quilting with her mother. She passed away on Sunday, April
13, 2008 at Westridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Knoxville, at the age
of 64. Her parents preceded her in death.
Fern is survived by one brother, Jerry (Judy) Orcutt of Las Vegas, Nev.; one aunt, Maxine Carroll of Davenport; several
cousins; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on April
17, 2008, at Evans-McCleery Funeral Home in Knoxville, with Pastor Steve Bagby
officiating. The interment was at Lincoln Cemetery in Marion County.
