A Celebration of Life of Dorothy Frances (Beaver) Loynachan, 89, of Knoxville, who
died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003 at West Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center, was held Monday,.
Dec. 8, at Williams Funeral Home. Interment was at Breckenridge Cemetery, Marion
County.

Dorothy was born on April 14, 1914, in rural Marion County, the daughter
of Worth H. and Jessie (Gregory) Stroud. She attended grade school at McMillan,
a one-room country school, going on to graduate from Knoxville High School in 1931.
After graduating from A.I.B. in Des Moines she worked for both the Marion County
Treasurers office and the Social Services office in the Marion County Courthouse.

She married Loren M. Beaver on Feb. 9, 1935, and they soon moved to the family farm
east of Knoxville. Dorothy worked full time alongside her husband in the farming
operation until his death in April 1968. She was then employed as receptionist at
Mater Clinic for 17 years until her retirement in 1984.

In July 1972 she married
Neil D. Loynachan; he died in September 1997. Dorothy was her family's role model
and heroine, always maintaining a cheerful spirit and positive attitude. She was
a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her
parents; husbands, Loren Beaver and Neil Loynachan; three brothers, Merle, Willis
and Richard Stroud; a sister, Marion Stroud and stepson, William (Bill) Loynachan.

She is survived by a son, Mel K. Beaver and wife Barb of Melcher-Dallas; a daughter,
Sandra S. Agan and husband Fred of rural Harvey; a stepson, Kenneth M. Loynachan
and wife Rosie of Knoxville; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren
and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central
Iowa or West Ridge Activity Center.
