Funeral services for Billee Sherwood, 75, of Texarkana, Texas, who died October
13, were held October 16, 1995, at the First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas.
Burial was at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Texarkana.
Billee was born May 9, 1920, in Knoxville, the son of John and Effie Sherwood. He
graduated from Knoxville High School, and had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps,
during World War II. He assisted in the construction of the Panama Canal, and the
Red River Army Depot in Texarkana.
He was owner of Sherwood's Forest of Gifts and
Wedding Chapel in Texarkana. He was, a licensed minister and held many weddings
in the chapel. He was a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo of Texarkana; two daughters, Linda Lowry of
Oklahoma City, Okla., and Saundra Atchley of Brownstown, Ark.; four sisters, Martha
Shivvers, Mary Mae Jordan, and Frances Kirkwood, all of Knoxville, and Nora Lee
Ingle of Swan; a brother, Robert Sherwood of West Des Moines; a grandson, and four
step-grandchildren.
